Islington Avenue High Rise Development
SIRATI & Partners was retained by Primont Homes to undertake a geotechnical investigation and slope stability assessment at the property located at 7082 Islington Avenue in Vaughan, Ontario.
The development consisted of approximately 10 acres of vacant land which is to be developed with four high-rise buildings consisting of 19 to 22 stories and entailing three to four levels of basement, situated at the east of the property, adjacent to Islington Avenue. The rest of the site is to be developed with conventional townhouses with one level of basement.
The purpose of the geotechnical investigation was to obtain information about the subsurface conditions and to make geotechnical recommendations pertaining to the design of the shoring, foundations, infrastructure and underground utilities. To this end, given the challenging stratigraphy of the site, options such as geoSolve Columns/Piers were considered as viable foundation solutions.
The purpose of the slope stability assessment was to review and assess the Long-term Stable Top of Bank Line as per the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA) guidelines.
