SIRATI was retained by the Region of Waterloo to provide Geotechnical, Limited Phase I & II Environmental Site Assessment and Hydrogeological Services in support of the conceptual design of the Erb Street Water Treatment Plant.
From the findings of the geotechnical investigation, SIRATI provided recommendations pertaining to soil design paraments, pavement parameters, excavation and backfill, shoring, drainage requirements, foundation and other design parameters.
The Hydrogeological investigation was conducted to characterize the soil and groundwater conditions at the site to assess construction dewatering requirements for the trench and foundation excavations and the needs for MECP Permit for PTTW application(s) among other purposes. As such, the Hydrogeological investigation included:
- Review of available background information
- Review of Water Well Inventory
- Groundwater Level Monitoring Survey
- Groundwater Sampling and Chemical testing
- In-situ Hydraulic Conductivity Testing
- Dewatering and Impact Assessment and reporting
